The Hiroshima International Animation Festival is a wonderful gathering of animators, artists, students, writers, and animation fans. The theme is Love and Peace, and despite the language barrier there was a warmth and friendliness throughout the festival.

On June 6, 2016 at the opening ceremonies of Animafest Zagreb, ASIFA awarded the prestigious ASIFA Prize for outstanding achievements in the art of animation to Giannalberto Bendazzi.
