1. "NEW ASIFA Board"
1. 1. Instead of a worldwide election on candidates for the ASIFA Board, the New ASIFA Board shall be composed of representatives from all national and regional ASIFA Groups and Offices. 1.2.1. The representatives of national and regional ASIFA Groups and Offices have to be elected by the international ASIFA members of the concerned national and regional ASIFA Groups and thus become members of the ASIFA Board. 1.2.2. In the case that an ASIFA Office consists of only one person, this person becomes members of the New ASIFA Board. 1.2.3. The ASIFA Members outside a local or regional group vote on their representative. This election shall be organised by the ASIFA General Secretariat. 1.3.1. All members of the New ASIFA Board have the right to participate in the discussions, only the Group representative have the right to vote. 1.3.2. Representatives from ASIFA Groups with between 10 and 50 members have one vote, from groups with between 51 and 100 members have two votes, from groups with more than 100 members have three votes. 1.4. The duties of the New ASIFA Board are: - To organise a tri-annual ASIFA General Assembly, which is open for all ASIFA Members. Aim of the General Assemly is to discuss the actual aims and problems of ASIFA, and it should end with a formulation of the "Future Goals of ASIFA" for the next three years. - To discuss and vote on the most important issues. - To elect the members of the ASIFA Executive Board 1.5. The duties of the members of the New ASIFA Board are: - To participate in discussions and votes. - To represent the interests of the ASIFA Members of the their group. - To give information about the activity of the local group (or region where they come from) to the ASIFA Board and to ASIFA's media (e.g. ASIFA Magazine, ASIFA Homepage, etc,) 2. ASIFA EXECUTIVE BOARD 2.1. The members of the ASIFA Executive Board are elected by the ASIFA Board with a majority of more than 50%. 2.2. The duty of the ASIFA Executive Board is to organise and to coordinate ASIFA's international activities. The following part should be understood as a proposal, how a more functional ASIFA Executive Board can be set up. |

2.3.1. Composition of the ASIFA Executive Board:
- President "minister for foreign affairs" - Secretary: "assistent to the president, membership management" - Chairman of the ASIFA Parliament : "communication manager" - Treasurer - Editor of ASIFA Magazine - Editor of ASIFA Homepage - Responsible person for ASIFA Archive (including non-film material) - Representative of ASIFA Workshop Group - Public Relation / Sponsorship Manager - Contact person for animation festivals - Contact person for animation schools - Contact person for America - Contact person for Asia - Contact person for Europe - Contact person for regions not mentioned above and for individual ASIFA members --- four people out of this group will also be ASIFA Vice Presidents |

The New ASIFA Board may use this model, or may modify (add or unify
functions) if needed.
2.3.2. Candidates for the ASIFA Executive Board can be proposed by the members of the ASIFA Board or can propose themselves for a defined position. The ASIFA Board may decide, if the members of the ASIFA Executive Board have to be members of the ASIFA Board or not. 2.4. Communication between ASIFA Board and ASIFA Executive Board: 2.4.1. It is recommended, that all members of the ASIFA Executive Board have internet acces and use e-mail for communication. 2.4.2. The ASIFA Executive Board has to write a semi-annual report about its activities to the ASIFA Board 2.4.3. In between these bi-annual reports it is the competence of the ASIFA Executive Board, if decisions have to be made with assistance of the ASIFA Board or if they can be carried out by the ASIFA Executive Board. The ASIFA Executive Board may decide to delegate this competence in cases of urgency to the President and the Vice-Presidents. |
