THURSDAY, MAY 17, 2001
6:30pm @ RMCAD
Edward Bakst, award winning designer/director of animation.
Mr. Bakst is the International Animation Department Chair @ Rocky Mountain College of Art & Design.
He is the Founding President of ASIFA-Colorado national chapter, which brings to you the following exciting guests and events. He will present his own award winning animation and discuss creative goals behind it: ideas, imagination and creativity, as liberated via powers of animation.
He will also address objectives animation professionals, students and art community must strive for and how these issues are vital for the local animation arena, commercial or independent.

Vesna and Bordo Dovnikovic
Bordo, a pioneer of Croatian animation whose film "The Big Meeting" is considered the beginning of modern Croatian animation. He is also one of the founders, a 15 year board member and former Secretary General of ASIFA International.
Along with Vesna, the current Secretary General for ASIFA, they will bring the true international exposure of ASIFA by presenting a unique perspective on animation.

RMCAD's International Animation Program

present
Mati Kutt, Estonian painter and animator whose award winning films have been exhibited internationally. He has worked in animation for over 25 years, perfecting several unique styles and techniques.
His presentation will include excerpts from his uniquely original, personal and powerful drawn, painted, puppet animation films as well as additional samples of Estonian animation.

NANCY BEIMAN, renown Character Animation artist.
She has worked as a character designer, story board artist, producer, animator, director, illustrator, caricaturist and animation teacher for studios in England, Germany, France, Denmark, and the USA. Her independent film YOUR FEET'S TOO BIG won a Cine Golden Eagle. Her articles on animation appeared in CARTOONIST PROFILES. Nancy is currently teaching animation @ the SCAD. She is coming to RMCAD for 3 days of in-class participation and ASIFA-Colorado retrospective of her work.

Sean Burns, Animation Director at Will Vinton Studios.
His work covers both the Stop Motion animation and Computer Animation.
Most recently he has directed episodes of "PJ"s.

We are hoping to welcome one of the greatest animators ever, who may come to RMCAD and ASIFA-Colorado all the way from Russia.


November 15th. 2001
RMCAD International Animation Program

are excited to present
Richard Williams
English director and the creative mind behind
the "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" a ground breaking film which forever changed the face of animation.
His presentation is called "THE ANIMATOR'S SURVIVAL KIT-Why This Book?" Mr. Williams will show the opening of WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT, discuss his work and his new book and run other video clips.

Gil Alkabetz, joins faculty @ RMCAD International Animation Program.
This internationally exhibited Israeli animator will present and talk about his award winning animation work.



We are working on a relationship with the Denver Film Society / Festival & the Film Center Denver, on sharing some events and exchanging visiting guests.
Hence, it maybe possible to have some screenings @ Tivoli theatre.

ASIFA-Colorado
is thrilled to be able to introduce to the local community all of these international artists presenting great veriety of animation, techniques, styles, ideas, attitudes to creativity and expression.

Thus, as promised, ASIFA-Colorado fulfills its mission of bringing the creative world at large to Denver. We trust that you will take advantage of what is offered and join us in these exciting events. Looking forward to hearing from you, or seeing you there.
