ASIFA – Colorado was established in 2001 as a non-profit corporation devoted to cultivating and promoting the art, craft and profession of animation.
Together, our membership and Board of Directors are developing a far-reaching range of programs and special events to meet the following goals: stimulate discussion among professional and non-professional animation enthusiasts, increase the visibility of Colorado Region animation companies, establish a tradition of local, public animation events, increase the connections between animation education programs and professionals in the industry, and enrich the experience of animation students by bringing the diversity of the international animation scene to their doorstep.
2016 - In March, ASIFA-Co hosted a workshop on light painting animation during the 2016 Niwot Student Film Festival in Longmont Colorado. Several students participated to create their own light painting sequences to contribute to a longer animation.
Participants at Denver Comic Con 2016 experimented with animation. ASIFA-Colorado opened three Animation Stations; two with cutout stop motion and one for 3d puppets animation.
ASIFA-Colorado elected a new board in 2016! We look forward to working together in the coming months.
