 Biography

Bärbel Neubauer was born in Austria.
Studied stage-design and film at the Academy of Arts in Vienna.

Makes films since 1980: animation films, short subjects, experimental films, documentaries
Composes music and filmmusic since 1991

Works on various media, such as 35mm cinema, 70mm IMAX cinema and Quicktime Movies for internet.
At present deals with combining direct animation screenings with performance and dance.

The films of the last years are mostly abstract direct animations and got international recognition and prizes, running at numerous international animation film festivals, short film festivals and experimental film festivals.

Made some commercials in the own style. 1998 made a 70mm animation film, "Sky", a handpainted direct on film animation

1999 Created several Quicktime Movies for the article "The Influence Of Sound/Music On Images" in the Animation World Magazine.

Work as a jury member at several international animation festivals.
Teaches free workshops and workshops at schools and universities since 1986.
Latest in1999: workshop at the Royal College of Art in London

Lived till 1987 in Vienna/Austria, since then in Munich/Germany
